This was supposed to be a fun little ride. I got dropped off of Jim, Dave and Todd's group. I then started to ride with a group of tri-athletes. We missed one turn and had to go back, by the time we figured out we had missed yet another turn, we were several miles down the road. So, this fun little 20 mile ride, turned into 25 miles of them following me, because I knew where I was and how to get back. We ended up in Alexandria, coming across the rollers of Jug. That was just so fun to watch. They were going down to their small chain rings and standing for the rollers. Still, finished with well over 21mph average and had great food afterward. Plus, we got T-shirts and waterbottles.

This was a really cool event. I wasn't sure what to expect. Actually I had no idea they had that large of a campus. Very nice party with a nationally recognized band afterwards. Good food with plenty of it. Oh yeah we rode too.

As for the ride the "experieinced" group set out at a pretty tough pace. There were 2 small (very small) climbs. I was the only person who could keep up with Todd on both of them. At the first one we hung out front just long enough to let everyone chase us down and wear themselves out. The second one we did the same. The finish leg was a heck of run at over 31 mph for the last 2 miles. Made the last turn and dodged a few runners and rollerbladers. Of the 7 people who kept together, I outsprinted a future teammate for the win...if you can call it that.
